About Monsoon Palace

Monsoon Palace was built by Maharana Sajjan Singh during the late nineteenth century. The original idea was to create a place where the royal family could watch the arrival of monsoon clouds across the Aravalli hills.

Because of its high location, the palace also served as a scenic retreat during warm months. Over time the palace became known for its views rather than as a residence.

Today the site is maintained as a historic viewpoint. Visitors come here to see the palace building, the surrounding forest area, and the wide landscape of Udaipur.
