About Gaurishankar Temple

Gaurishankar Temple Bhedaghat was added later to the Chausath Yogini Temple Bhedaghat complex. The original structure dates back to the 10th–11th century during the Kalachuri period, while the central shrine was built later.

Historical records suggest that the Yogini temple was later adapted into a Gauri-Shankar temple with this central shrine dedicated to Shiva.

The temple stands on a hill above the Narmada River, offering wide views of the surrounding area.
