About Chausath Yogini Temple

Chausath Yogini Temple Bhedaghat was built in the 10th–11th century during the Kalachuri period.

The temple is circular and about 125 feet in diameter, making it one of the largest yogini temples in India.

Although called “Chausath” (64), it actually has 81 shrine spaces arranged along the inner wall.

A small shrine was later added at the center. The temple stands on a hill above the Narmada River, around 5 km from Jabalpur.

It is known for its rare design and historical importance.
